Where to get Photoshop Elements
Photoshop Elements is offered for Mac and Windows via the Adobe website.
You can get Photoshop Elements 17+ through the Adobe website or through the Mac App store and the Windows app store.
General features
One of the distinguishing features of Photoshop Elements is the simplified user interface.
Photoshop Elements users will find four main tabs on their Photoshop Elements window: Photos, Edit, Create and Help.
Note that the Photos tab is still heavily synched to Adobe Lightroom, but Photoshop Elements users can change that if desired. The Help tab contains documentations for Photoshop Elements users, more about the various tools in the program and how to use them.
The “Photos” tab
The Photos tab contains the majority of the features. It features:
Import & Organize: the “Import Photos” feature allows users to import photos from a folder on their computer or from a camera. It also lets them view all their photos by location.
Use Filters & Retouch: this feature lets users use filters and retouch photos in the program. It works by pulling photos from your hard drive and, on the “Create” tab, letting users remove red-eye, effects, add stickers, and do basic retouching.
Share your photos: this feature allows users to share and print photos from Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop Elements. It also lets users back up their photos to a computer connected to the internet.
Create: the “Create” tab displays the filters users have applied to photos and can also let users create new photos from scratch.
The “Photo” tab
The “Photo” tab contains the following features:
Adjust: Photoshop Elements has a few adjustments that can be used to change the brightness, contrast, color, saturation, and exposure of your photos.
Editing: with Photoshop Elements, users can use the Edit tab to edit photos by creating new layers and applying adjustments to the entire image or to only specific objects in the image. In the advanced screen, users have access to the full Photoshop interface where they can do things like crop and correct perspective.
Selective editing: Photoshop Elements has the same tools as Photoshop, but in one screen, users can make adjustments to different parts of the image.

I have a rectange shape (a straight line w/ a rounded top) which I want to draw several of, for example; a staircase. Is there a library in Java which allows me to create a stair case graphics with a few clicks?
If not, what would be the best approach? Create a picture using java code and then change the color of the top line? Thanks.

The Java Graphics2D API supports several drawing modes, which allow you to create these complex graphics with just a few lines of code.
Note: Do not try to use paintComponent() to create such complex shapes. It is, in most cases, far too slow and often creates a completely different “picture”.

User variable MySQL – selecting an object with $id
I’ve been looking at several examples with the following problem.
I have a user variable MySQL user_id, and would like to select the object that a user is connected to.
Is it possible to select and add this user to a list with the following query?

You can either use a join statement or use the with(expr) method for the object to select the record.
Since you are using an ID field, you can simply use a join instead of including the user id column in the select.
$criteria->join(‘user’, ‘user.id = forum_member.id’);
Note that the above query will try to use the forum_member join table once the condition is met. In this case, the table in join should match the relation between forum_member and user.
The other method to load users is the with(expr) method.
$criteria->with(new ForumMemberAlias(‘forum_member’, ‘{user}.id, user.username’));
This method will create an alias in the select so that the correct join table is loaded. Here forum_member is the alias for the forum_member join table.
The above join will result to the following SQL query:
