I am thinking of developing a game in C++. I have done some coding in C#, and I find it easier to use (thanks Microsoft!!). However, I have heard of C++ being more powerful, is this true? And if so, how do you recommend I approach (if possible) learning C++ for game development?

As far as I know, the language is the same between C# and C++. The core framework and libraries are proprietary to Microsoft, but it’s the same language. The C# compiler is just the.NET compiler that compiles your C# code into MSIL, which is the same on Windows.
From what I understand, C# is especially pretty with regards to class design (closures, LINQ, and what not), but I’m not sure about the core language. The only real difference is that C# code is in “managed” language, whereas C++ is in “unmanaged” language (kind of).
Both are pretty easy to learn, but I would try and go with C# first. It’s slightly easier, and if you find yourself struggling with C#, you have a potential language to learn.
