What’s New In ChunkVNC?
InstantSupport
In this feature for UltraVNC Server 7.0.0 and later Instantly connects to the UltraVNC server just by knowing your customer ID number. The ID number is selected from a list of ID numbers. The ID numbers are saved to the UltraVNC directory.
When the application is opened it will extract the UltraVNC server to a temporary directory, generate a random ID and securely connect the UltraVNC server to the repeater. The ID number shown on the screen is large so that a user can tell which system is connected to InstantSupport. The ID number can be typed to change it, but will continue to roll over to new number. This allows multiple systems to be connected to InstantSupport, but because of a security feature, it won’t allow users to connect to multiple servers.
When the user has connected to the server, all they have to do is follow the prompts from UltraVNC and they can use the computer just like it is right next to them. When a server is connected to InstantSupport it will autoboot itself and is ready to be used. Installing InstantSupport permanently installs the UltraVNC server onto the customer’s computer. This also gives you the ability to control UAC in Vista and reboot the remote computer.
Installing the service allows you to have a persistence over the computer session and save on their computer’s resources. InstantSupport uses the DLLs of UltraVNC Server that are installed into the same directory as the application.

If a user has both InstantSupport and Repeater connected to their computer, they will be able to access both servers through InstantSupport. Since this is a two way connection, if Repeater is disabled the connection will not be persistent and the client will not be able to control the server.
