This review is targeted at the completion of the game on the standard hard difficulty, not including any post-game DLC. It’s a review copy, however.
Zombotron.
Zombotron is a game made by German developer Dennis Altmann (previously known for his Games, such as N+ or fourLegs). It is a side-scrolling shooter which takes place in a world called the Dark Zone, where the number “5” was written on the back of the neck of every living person on the planet, but, for some reason, that number turned into a weapon that can kill the whole world. It is a strong, deadly virus that has infiltrated the living world, killing all the citizens.
The world is split into six levels that can be traversed and where you must save as many citizens as you can. The story starts with the founding members of the 10th Corps, which are separated from each other and must work together if they’re going to survive. They find a survival transport, escape the Zombotron, and arrive at the mission.
There, they learn that the transport is actually a military vessel which is the only one capable of carrying a sufficient amount of people to make it to the research station called the Hellspit. They find a small mission within the facility, but it quickly becomes obvious that it’s not a simple task to just deliver the 10th Corps members to the station. The airlock is damaged, so people can’t get out of the transport. They have to fix it.
Because of the mission’s timing, it soon becomes clear that the virus has entered the station. The situation escalates, the survivors try to defend themselves, and then it’s up to you as the player to defend them. The level of difficulty can be adjusted. You can be sneaky and explore the Zombotron levels, or you can go in guns blazing, kill everything. You’ll need to do both.
There are a lot of enemies, and they can launch various attacks towards you. They might also move in such a way that there’s no safe ground to go to, making things even more difficult. If you manage to reach the end, you’ll be able to check the numbers of the survivors on the transport.

I watched, helplessly, as Arekan struggled. I could hardly bare to see him so humbled, so physically helpless. But I had to, it was the right thing to do. He was a wise man, and a good one. But damn him, he was still holding onto the idea that magic was a mysterious force of nature, like the weather, that could transform anyone who was “worthy.” And now, the master I’d vaunted him to be was dead.
So I reached out and spoke the spell that had recovered Arekan from poisoning years ago, and now I watched the currents around his body drain away in a dark red veil. The powers he had held wasted, leaving him a shattered man. He collapsed and I knelt beside him, folding him into my arms, and held him.
Inside my chest, protected by my knife, waited the gladness of finally being free of his ways. For all his faults as a person and a wizard, I respected the man for his kindness, the respect he showed for others, of how much he tried to make his way within the rules of the universe, not the ones his religion forced upon him. His love for my seer’s daughter was a good and pure heart, even if he believed lying to people about chasing after Myrah was virtuous and righteous. And yes, he was the hope for a cure to Nanashua’s curse, but he didn’t know how to do it. He was the weakness I needed him to be.
Together, we would find a way to destroy my curse. It was going to be harder than it sounded, probably harder than he could imagine. But even with all that, I could look forward to a long and wealthy life, sufficient to support the two of us in health and comfort, on Earth, and on our golden beach.
Tossing him back off me, I stood, wiping the tears that had spilled down my face at my exhaustion. “Do you need anything?” I asked, looking down at my immaculate trousers and scratching my underarms, which showed through holes in my tunic. I ached for a few days of bathing, of real cleanliness, and definitely needed a change of clothes.
“I’m fine. I’m alive, and I’m safe.” He reached down and grabbed my hand, pulling me toward him. He was still bleeding, and the light from the fire burned my eyes and the cuts on my neck.

Neonatal human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) causes an immunodeficiency syndrome marked by rapid and fatal depletion of the CD4+ T-cell population. It has been hypothesized that the deletion of T cells may be due to their susceptibility to direct HIV-1 infection, or indirectly, to either bystander activation or the expression of a virally regulated enhancer element. It has recently been reported that monocytes and peripheral blood mononuclear cells can support the growth of HIV-1 in vitro. The present study demonstrates that CD4+ T cells are susceptible to infection with macrophage-tropic viruses after exposure to hydrogen. Hydrogen is produced during the immune response, and since this gas is known to affect T cell proliferation and cell death, the present study evaluates its role in a T cell system. Prolonged exposure of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched CD4+ T cells to hydrogen diminishes HLA-DR expression and HIV-1 replication. Furthermore, the growth of the HIV-1-resistant T-cell line Jurkat is also inhibited by hydrogen. This study demonstrates that hydrogen inhibits HIV-1 replication in CD4+ T cells and suggests that this inhibition may be partly due to the activation of cell death pathways or to the repression of viral-specific transcripts. This study supports the hypothesis that inhibition of HIV-1 replication in T cells
