After learning about microtransactions and the like with Terraria and Terraria 2, I was thinking of making a microtransaction simulator in Blender.

Today I decided to go ahead and create a microtransaction simulator.

The project name is MicroManager. Blender has a few plugins for aspiring microtransaction developers but nothing that really lets you build a full game experience. So today I will be making that.

First time I created this project I used a Softimage tutorial found on Youtube on Vray. After messing around with it and realizing it was not quite what I wanted I edited the scene and made it look more like what the tutorial recommended. But I skipped over how to make a portal. After all, I only need one portal.

I wish I had built a portal in a previous iteration. But sadly I have not. So with some scripting I am bound to a giant wall in my Home. The next part to this tutorial will go into what I did to connect a portal to the character.

MicroManager

MicroManager is going to be a story driven game. The player can interact with a character that they can follow and interact with, read on-screen, or read off-screen. The character can explore a dungeon made of over twelve hundred blocks that were created by the user before the main game even begins.

The goal here is to build the entire game world before the player actually has to interact with it.

What makes this game different than a traditional sandbox game is the fact that I intend on creating a story and following it. But do not worry. By the time the tutorial is over you will be following a linear path.

Why A MicroTransactions Simulator?

The reason I chose microtransactions is because of the success creators like Minecraft have had with them. What I want MicroManager to do is have the introduction of the game be completely stripped out.

The player will start off on Page 1 and have to navigate via button icon to Page 2, 3, 4, etc until they get to the last page in order to purchase the in-game items. I am perfectly fine with whatever path the player takes to get to Page 7 which is the payment page. Page 7 the player clicks on, enters the password, gets a list of items that they can purchase, and then goes back to the button icon that used to unlock the game.
