So be warned of spoilers for Disc 2 of the Sentinels of the Multiverse season 1 DVD/Blu-ray & season 2 DVD/Blu-ray.
I was busy last week (besides birthday boy Ethan Glick, shopping for the July 24th, Geek Burger BBQ), so had no time to post. So instead, here’s a teaser of what’s ahead:
We’re really expanding on the idea of “Druids of Two Worlds” for this set. We’re going to be showing a lot of variant versions of characters that recur throughout the series. If you count back in episode order, the Maul in ‘The Rough and the Smooth’ is the 3rd said recurring character.
I think the most interesting one is “Shadowy figure” of “The Nox.” He is a somewhat shadowy figure that Mondo shows Ethan the druidic altar he seems to have been reciting the riddles on. It turns out he is the Destroyer, who is only ever seen from within a golden portal. However, in this set he has a pretty strong physical presence. If you look closely, all of the versions of the character are coming up in ‘Keystone’ (level 4 druid hunting), but the ‘Shadowy figure’ is the only one with truly martial arts moves (Bows only) and is the only one who lets it rip. The Destroyer isn’t exactly a Hannibal Lecter, but he’s close. The other Destroyer, who remains unknown and only ever appears to Ethan, also does martial arts, but has little use for nocking arrows to the skull.
In ‘The Face of Time’ we’re showing the different Fuma state and the Hive they come from; who Ethan briefly encounters on his first outing with the Fel Demons. This is shown in the ‘Un-Druid’: Death Fury with three additional bulky Mortals past the full-color concept art of the hunchback, elf, and skunk.
In ‘The Corps: Transmogrified’ the Stranger finally appears, as we encounter him with his body and face reconstructed.
We have a previously unreleased look at the character Vicious, who we meet on ‘The Heir To The Blade’ (just watch it!), and we have a look at a couple more characters: “Fancy Drake,” who has an interesting characterization and “Ironwing.”
