Breaking news: Hooking up is totally fine, even if it means being casual about it, according to a slew of new research. “My sense is that casual sex is not something that we should feel awful about,” says lead study author Debby Herbenick. “I think it’s a regular, natural part of the sexual/romantic life.”
In fact, there was a time when this kind of hookup wasn’t so common. But something momentous happened to break down sexual barriers: the rise of webcams. “We began having sexual relationships in a way that was mediated through a camera,” says sociologist Miriam Tiu. This visibility (and ease of hooking up) soon paved the way for a much more permanent and intimate level of casual dating.
Being casually sexual isn’t just a casual sex preference — according to several studies, half of men and a third of women have had sex outside of a committed relationship at some point in their lives. So what exactly is casual sex? At its most basic level, it’s engaging in a sexual relationship with someone you’re not committed to. But there’s a big difference between doing it with a relationship partner and a hookup partner — the difference between a hookup and a casual sex. The casual sex might be semi-serious, and they might be an infrequent pastime, but the casual sex isn’t a one-off. Casual sex means that you and your partner might hook up once or twice a week for a few weeks or months and then break things off. When the casual sex turns into a full-fledged romantic relationship, and your relationship begins to last, then you have casual sex with a partner.
“We initiated it — it wasn’t a situation where we were looking for a hookup,” says one woman in the study, which was conducted for the National Marriage Project. When these couples were in a relationship, they were more likely to have sex in bed.
Another study found that women who were in committed relationships were less likely to have casual sex when compared to women who weren’t in a relationship. And other recent research suggests that women who sleep with men outside of committed relationships are likely to have lower relationship quality, less intimacy in their relationships, and lower relationship satisfaction, even if their relationships aren’t breaking down.

MrGizmo757: you can upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 but not from 11.04, you need to reinstall

ok, i ran sudo rm -rf / as recommended in an existing and working xorg.conf and the only thing that worked was my screen resolution, i’m still seeing no cursor when I type
