Early history (1982-1986)
AutoCAD was developed by a team that was created in 1982 to design and develop a new family of CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) applications. The team was led by John Walker and Robert Y. Thompson, and the software program was developed by a team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
In 1983, AutoCAD was released on the MITS-compatible microcomputer DEC LSI-11/44 and produced under the legal name of AutoDesk Design and Drafting System (ADDS). Before its release, the software was known as Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
AutoCADs initial success (1982-1986)
AutoCAD was released at a time when many business in the United States were introducing microcomputers into the business office and the first wave of the home computing revolution was changing how people worked and played.
The success of AutoCAD is largely attributed to its ability to address several problems with conventional CAD software. First, conventional CAD programs were oriented towards single users working on a specialized graphics terminal. These programs were developed for specialized industry sectors with CAD operators working at separate graphics terminals. Second, CAD programs did not provide users with the ability to share their design ideas, making collaborative work more difficult. Third, conventional CAD programs focused on the creation of technical designs such as blueprints, rather than making visual design more intuitive for the general public.
The autoCAD concept was developed in a department of the MITS division of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), and it was the first software development in this new company. The initial marketing of AutoCAD was distributed on several MITS-compatible microcomputers including the LSI-11, the MITS-compatible S/360 and the MITS-compatible Apple II. How to uninstall the serial key
Go to the main menu of Autodesk Autocad. Click on “Product and Application”.
Open the product you wish to remove the key from.
Click on “Uninstall”.
Click on “Yes” when prompted to “Uninstall for all users?”

New AutoCAD UI
The new AutoCAD UI has a more intuitive design, offering more controls and functions with less clutter. The most commonly used commands are now even easier to find and access. You can use your mouse or a keyboard to perform tasks that were previously available only from the ribbon.
Automatic Layouts
You can now set default layout options for your drawings in the Layouts palette, so when you import a drawing it will have the same default settings.
Edit CAD Objects:
This tool lets you change features of an existing object. You can edit any 3D object, even when it isn’t within your drawing. The new Edit command displays a palette with the option to change the object’s scale, position, or rotation. You can also edit an object’s color or even delete it.
Paint Tool Enhancements:
You can use Paint Brushes to create brushes that apply surface treatments such as textures, bevels, and blends. You can also add a gradient to the brush and control the size, angle, and amount of the gradient. This feature is particularly helpful for creating realistic geometric shapes and modeling materials.

Importing Options:
Importing from one file can now be done on the fly. When you open a new drawing, all previously imported file formats are added to the Draw and Model tabs. When you’re importing, you can choose to keep or discard the original file name, and you can also choose to open a new template to create a new drawing for that file format.
No Support for 16-Bit Programs:
AutoCAD is still fully capable of handling 16-bit programs, but it’s not supported for now. The plan is to phase out 16-bit programs as new features and services are introduced.
