the wii version is not quite as nice as the ds port. the graphic improvements are much less than in the portable game, but the audio still makes it the better choice. the wii even has a few extra content, as the character sprites are taken fromsecret files 2and other items from the u.s. release. sincesecret files 2was also ported to the psp, it is the one that plays better on the portable console. in the end, it can be a hard choice between the two, since the u. version has better controls and a different character sprite for nina, the main female protagonist. the fact that the wii has the other versions is, unfortunately, no consideration here.

it may seem like a minor detail, but the art direction is far more convincing in the ds version. the backgrounds are filled with details, and the characters fit in nicely. the control scheme is as well thought out as in the pc version, butsecret fileshas a very weak lock-on feature which may turn off some players. the most striking difference between the two versions is that the game is set in the legendary city of atlantis in the first game. in the new one, it is located in a desert. the publisher even went so far as to change the name of the main characters to nina and daedalus, obviously aiming to please the u.s. audience.

so if you play the wii version, you can pretty much forget that the originalsecret fileswas a ps2 and windows exclusive. what remains is the same great action adventure game that we have been enjoying for almost two decades now.

if you play the ds version, you will at least not be missing out much, but the experience is not the same as the pc game. the graphics are not as good as those of the pc game, and the sound quality is not there either. it would have made for a nice bonus if the developers had gone the extra mile and added some commentary, similar to the pc version. there are some quirks like unskippable dialogues, and some of the puzzles are rather illogical. this game plays far better on the psp, since the developers were able to re-create the audio and graphics from the psp version, and add a few extras. it even includes the threesecret filesgames that were released before the original, and a few minor tweaks.

With the help of as raked-up medical experience, a marine vet and some spare time, our 2 heroes find themselves on a mysterious mission to save a priceless piece of rock art that is the key to a lost civilization.The action is of a high caliber adventure by Hardy Brothers standards, but the story is almost more important than the action.
