February 23, 2016 – I downloaded Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 for Microsoft Windows (x64) from download.oracle.com. I had to open the .zip twice to install.
However, after installing Oracle, I was able to connect to Oracle 11g through Oracle JDeveloper and run read tests using the TIBQuery1 command.
But once I opened the JRE and made it executable, I couldn’t connect to Oracle 11g from Java.
I wasn’t able to connect to any Oracle 11g instance that I created with the “Run as Guest” command from Oracle JDeveloper.
I couldn’t connect to Oracle 11g from Java at any time.
