Total War: Warhammer 2 is a considerable departure from the previous game that just a year previous. This time around the player gets to experience all the magic and fantasy in a more isometric and close up level.
Total War: Warhammer 2 is the instalment in the Total War: Warhammer series that was the first time the series brought the fantasy genre to the big screen. In between the 2 main campaigns of Warhammer 2, there’s a whole collection of missions and scenarios as well as five different playable factions that all have a different flavour. As of writing this article, there are still more updates being issued by Creative Assembly to the game, and because of this, some of the reviews and content published will have to be updated. That being said, I’m eager to play the game and review and review it as a whole. For now I’ll just say that as one of the fans of the series, I’m disappointed and happy, all at the same time, to see that the game seems to be living up to my expectations.
Warhammer 2 is a massive homage to the first game, which makes perfect sense as the game’s main campaign takes place around the Warhammer Fantasy world. It also allows the player to experience the campaign from multiple perspectives, and these each have their own gameplay styles and campaigns to enjoy, as well as any DLC. As with any Total War game, combat is key, and here players will engage in more all-out war then ever before. Modern magic, fantasy beasts, heroes, special weapons and events of the fiction alongside its own playable factions and world-wide battles add up to a hefty and complex package.
