Skyrim Voices.bsa English
some people have been seeing the following error in their ini file from my add-ons, see their comments below. i’m not sure if it is the same error or not, but for those who have seen it and have successfully changed their language to english, please give me details of how you fixed the issue. thanks.
i’ve been playing skyrim with a russian voice over, and i wanted to change it to english (it didn’t help that the voices in the game were also in russian, making the lack of english voices all the more aggravating), but the game was set to read in english (even with the “steam/steamapps/skyrim special edition//skyrim.ini” changed to russian). the voice was replaced, but only after the initial game load (it was very obvious as i was talking with my characters while i was still trying to figure out how to get my voice back).
theres a good chance if you do this, and have problems, that you just need to kill the ini with a editor and then run it again. if youre making mods, make sure to create steam folders, and in the steam special tab, a steam.ini with all your mods loaded. just make sure to have every mod in the steam folders, as theyll be loaded before the main ini if theyre in the steam folders. hope this helps
a common issue seems to be related to a total game crash, or the voice audio going completely missing and preventing you from even starting new quests because of that. the first time i tried changing the language from italian to english (not only i enjoy the original voice acting, some of the installed mods are coded in english and i found myself with two different languages playing in the game) i literally freaked out trying to figure out what i did wrong, seeing my perfectly modded game failing on me. the only thing that seemed to work was a fresh new save from the normal steam loader, but we definitely dont want that when we have a lot of progress going, right? especially when we have 3 full languages installed: italian, russian and english. the problem? install the english version and when you reload it, the sound of the english version should become the sound of the russian version.. but no, it works, but gets as my game loaded the english version of the voices. on top of that, it creates an english version of the skins. weird, but some apps do that if you install them in one language and try to change, doesn’t seem to work, but what doesn’t stop it from working. anyway, i’m trying different approaches to understand what i might be doing wrong.
