the developers of teeworlds, the website, and the website, deserve a special thanks for putting up with my ill-intended abuse of the teeworlds’ forums. for those of you not versed in teeworlds lingo, the forums are, for the most part, pretty helpful. if you have any questions about a particular aspect of the game, feel free to ask. if you want to rant about the game, however, you should definitely be doing that in the teeworlds forums instead of here.
teeworlds is a very simple game. the goal is to mow down the opposing players with a variety of weapons, and you can do that by jumping on them or even blowing them up. the game uses a cover system that is based on the quake net spawn, and if your health is low, you will most likely lose. easy mode for the game is eight players and med-hard is ten.
if you play with bots, you can find them in the bot-server of the game. there is also a bot-server on the forums and even an irc channel where you can go and talk to other teeworlds players for a few minutes and share tips and strategies. in addition, you can also play teeworlds in the browser via the demo.
i’ve seen instances of hooking, so you don’t need to download the latest version of the client. there is no reason you should need to. if you feel like you need to download the latest version, you don’t. edit the bot can be given instructions like, “go to the red tile.” or “go to the blue tile.” in a map that has a large number of tiles, in order to change which tiles you go to. the bot will change the tile by changing the time of the command. you can use the map /me to send out a message to multiple people at once edit send a message to all players in the world, but in a large map, you need to know who to send it to. it is currently set to target the person closest to you, which is me. it will not target me. i did this for testing purposes, so you can test out the hooks for yourself. copy and paste this into a console to test the bot: /me hook 10 your map has been moved to tile 40,2. this will be ignored until you tell it what to do. if you tell it to go to tile 40,2, it will do that. if you want it to go to a random tile, you need to tell it to go to a random tile. i don’t know how to change this, so i can’t tell you how to do that. even if i knew how to change it, it would be a pain. edit basically, you just say: /hook 2 so, in general, the bot will move to a random tile within 2 tiles of where you are. in maps with lots of tiles, the closer to you the map is, the more likely you will be to be moved. in maps with many tiles, it will target the closest tile to you. if you have a large map with no rooms, there’s not much that you can do. you will have to wait for it to move to a random tile, or move to a tile that’s close to you. also, you need to be over a tile for the bot to move to it. if you are under a tile, it won’t move to it. it also will not move to the tiles where you are. so in a map like that, you will have to wait for the bot to move to a tile that you’re over, so that you can move to it. it doesn’t have a maximum speed, and is able to move very fast. the only way to stop the bot from moving is to disconnect from the server. the server will stop the bot from moving. all other commands don’t have any effect on it. edit it will always be aware of where the player is, which is why the bot always moves to the closest tile to you. /hook 10 will make the bot go to tile 40,2. in map /hook 1 will make the bot move to the closest tile to you. in map /hook 10, it will change the map to the closest tile to you. it will also change the map to a random tile once it’s close to you. edit if you are on a tile and move, the bot will be aware of this and know that you’re moving. in this case, the bot will be aware that you are moving. so it will change the map so that it will be able to move to you, even if it is just a few tiles away. edit the bot is a little bit laggy, but it’s not a huge problem. i haven’t been able to find a way to speed it up, so i can’t really tell you how to do that. edit the bot will not be able to move to you if you are in a room.
