Farruca Sabicas Partitura Pdf 17
guitarist sabicas was one of the first great spanish guitarists. in the late 1940s, he established his reputation with his playing in the madrid clubs of the time, first with his band los saetos de sabicas, then with his sextet los saetos y la guitarra. he continued to tour and record for the next three decades, before retiring in 1983. sabicas played with a range of artists, including some of the best guitarists in the world, including django reinhardt, django’s brother, stéphane, django’s nephew, and the great guitar player, ramón montoya.
the guitar in this piece has a very pensive and melancholic feel to it – something which is echoed in its melody and harmony. it was composed by the great spanish composer and guitarist, seisdedos, in the traditional enseguida format (in about two hours). it is one of a number of seisdedos pieces and serenades which have been arranged for guitar duet. the piece includes a lot of tapping, tremolo picking and vibrato, and a great amount of double and triple stopping. this piece is recorded using the farruca material, and unlike the other farrucas, it is in the traditional spanish form for guitar duet.
the guitar is given the lydian mode in the melody. this is a very beautiful mode and one of the most beautiful modes, used most famously for the song yo no soy rumbera (i’m not a rumbera) by the great farruca guitar player, rolando alarcos. the song was written by farruca in the 1930s, but the version you hear here was arranged in the 1950s by the great guitar player, fintan o’neill.
you’ll probably learn this piece sooner than later, since it’s a great piece of classical guitar. the guitar is in the phrygian mode – the second mode of the scale. the piece is written in the classical style, but the harmony is really very flamenco in feeling. the piece has a very strong rhythm which makes it work well for improvisation. the piece is recorded using the farruca material, and unlike the other farrucas, it is in the traditional spanish form for guitar duet.
