i haven’t played cb3d, but cb4 was a game i’ve been looking forward to since it was announced. i was really excited to play it, and i was still excited for the release, but when i played the game a couple days ago, i was really disappointed. the graphics look amazing, and i really like the new crash animation, but the controls are really wonky. maybe the controls have improved since launch, but the way it works now is a nightmare. it’s a true shame too, because i was really looking forward to playing the remake of cb3d, and instead i’m playing a mediocre remake of cb4.
i could take or leave the online requirement, i have no issues playing offline and i don’t play online multiplayer anyway. however, i really don’t like that they added in the “always online” requirement, because that’s exactly what games like halo and destiny are about. don’t want to be online all the time, which is why these games have an offline mode. it’s a real shame that this game has this requirement, because crash 4 is supposed to be a trilogy. i don’t want to be online all the time for a game, especially one that is supposed to be a trilogy, i don’t mind the always online requirement for multiplayer or online leaderboards but the game is supposed to be a single player experience and as soon as i had to go online to play i was done with the game.
released in may of 2014, crash bandicoot: n.sane trilogy earned a 10 on our 10 scale. it’s a faithful revival of the original trilogy, complete with a revamped remaster of the original games, new levels, and outfits inspired by those from the playstation 2 title.
