the game is set in the 1980’s. vice city is now a peaceful place and the player can move around without being disturbed by the police. as before, the player is assigned a task by a gang boss, and he must take care of the gang. his goal is to collect money from the gang leader and to make the gang leave him alone. it is only after the player has delivered the money that he is allowed to leave the gang leader alone. this is called the extraction method, as the player has to extract the money he has delivered.
gta vice city is the largest map in the series to date, covering an area of over two million square feet of territory. of course, this is all rendered in a more detailed fashion than before. the new engine also allows for more interactive objects, such as interactive advertising billboards, that can be turned on and off. vice city stories will also include a number of vehicles from grand theft auto: vice city and grand theft auto: san andreas, allowing you to try them out for yourself.
