So this is already running on Windows Server 2008 R2.
Applications that use appcmd.exe have an additional functionality that creates an Event Tracing for Windows, or ETW, logging for every action. By default, Event Viewer will register to a local or distributed Windows Event Log, meaning ETW tracing messages will automatically appear in its logs. ETW is a way to trace the system and show it to you in a better way. It can log all kinds of system events, such as events related to the registry, file system, program execution, and so on. ETW records this data for further review.
When an application calls the appcmd.exe application, the system will log the level of the command and the return code. In the following example, the application is a PowerShell script that performs a remote login, attempts to install a web site, and logs the event data.
Before you use appcmd.exe, we suggest you to open the Event Viewer. To open Event Viewer, click Event Viewer in the Start menu or type eventvwr in the search window. The Event Viewer provides more than one log. Because all the logs have the same name, start a simple search for a period of time. In the following example, you can use the period of time selection and a search for 2-6-2011.
You can see in the following snapshot, that the Event Viewer logs the logon, an error, and an exit code. The next step is to configure appcmd.exe. This line is entered in the properties field of Event Viewer. To run appcmd.exe, enter the following line in the configuration file:
appcmd.exe create “webvdir\webroot” /f /app.config /p:applicationRoot=”c:\inetpub\wwwroot”
Create or delete an existing event source. Enter the following in the configuration file to create an event source:
appcmd.exe create “http\eventlog\myAppLogger” -applicationName MyApp -description “MyApp Event Logging” -enabled:$true -sourceName “MyAppSource
We’re Back! – the first comprehensive environmental evaluation of the mangroves located on the coast and islands of the county. The study was carried out as part of the “In The Care of Mangroves” Programme, funded by the EU Structural Funds and to which the district council, the office of environmental protection and Culture Vlaanderen have contributed.
1. The Mangroves: the irreplaceable ecosystem of the coast.
2. The Mangrove Forest: A Millennium Legacy.
3. The Mangrove Forest: A Millennium Legacy.
A study funded by EEA and carried out in partnership with Vlaamse Entomologie.
2. I had no idea what a mangrove was, but I liked the name. It sounded exotic, as exotic as the trees.
3. We first saw the trees in February, in a wet time when they were pushing their way out of the mud. The whitish flower was like a snowdrop, a few early spring flowers. They all went quickly, a week or two at the most.
4. Mother Nature likes to surprise us. We went again in May, and now there were buds on the trees. They were a delicately pink colour, and soon the flower had opened. A ghostly pink, like a mist over the mud.
5. This spring was a very wet one. They are a nursery for many fish, but now the plants have grown too large, blocking the water too fast, so the fish are not being born. The waters all around the trees are full of slime, and we found the fish in the slimy mud. No one wants to swim there.
6. We do not know how old the trees are. They were here before the city of Vlaardingen was built, before the salt works, before the canals, even before the first settlers arrived.
7. It is only in the past few years that we have learned that the mangroves are very useful trees, and it is in our interest to protect them. We learned that a healthy mangrove forest is not just an aesthetic delight, or a nursery for fish, but an irreplaceable part of the coastal ecosystem. Mangroves are a nursery for many species, but not only for fish. The trees are the nursery for corals, for shrimp, for crabs, and for many small land animals. The ecosystem is
