Use gem within rake task

I am using gem ‘ajax-remote-form’ and I have a rake task that I would like to be able to run on command line. In the initializer.rb I have added
AjaxRemoteForm.configure do |config|
config.authentication_method = :session
end

When I run rake task, I get
undefined method `configure’ for AjaxRemoteForm:Module (NoMethodError)

Can someone explain how to set up initializers so that they run on a rake task? I am guessing that it has to do with inheritance, but am not really sure how to get this working.

In rake file, you can load the gem as follows:
require ‘rubygems’
require ‘ajax-remote-form’
AjaxRemoteForm.configure do |config|
config.authentication_method = :session
end

I believe it will fix the problem.
