Eager For Den Church To Get Built
It’s my first blog entry in quite some time and I wanted to share my thoughts about what Den Church is doing in the area.
In this picture my Grandma, who is 97 years old, is talking with her friend, Stacey, a member of Den Church, while attending and meeting with Dr. Tim, a guest speaker during this Engagra Network visit.
I was so excited to see that Dr. Tim had to cancel his plans to speak to all of us. For some of you who didn’t know, during a previous Engagra Network visit to Texas, two years ago, Dr. Tim taught us about his “3 minute health” diabetes prevention program. He shared with us that three years after implementing this program in clinics across the US that Dr. Tim teaches his 3-minute health program, millions of people are reaping the rewards of what he helped over 600,000 patients in Texas alone. Dr. Tim’s program helped people lower their need for medication, lower their risk of disease and lowered cost to the health care system. We continued to be inspired by his program and we enjoyed seeing the changes that were occurring in patients because of the lifestyle changes they were able to make because of their “3 minute health” counseling program.
I was then told by a fellow pastor at a different church that Dr. Tim was scheduled to speak to another church in the area and when he said that, I did not believe him. I had no idea that the time and date of this meeting had been finalized and I did not believe his story.
When I returned from our day of attending a conference and finished my evening duties at church, I started my drive home and I passed the church that Dr. Tim would be speaking to. Suddenly I noticed that Den Church had put a sign out front in front of it’s door. I slowed down to read more and found that Paul Salmen and Dr. Tim were assembling before the doors opened and I immediately called my Aunt Shirley, who has her home in town, (she lives about 15 minutes from Den Church) told her what I had just read. She started calling people in her congregation and “everyone was in the know” that night about this incredible opportunity.
