It seems that Adobe will be sticking with their usual update styles. The only thing that makes it look more like a RAW file is to manually dark-erase the pixels that got brightened too much. I’m probably not suggesting this ISO-less way too often. There are always other ways to achieve the same thing. Bottom line, JPEG images do come out great. In fact, I’ve been able to output a tonal range that is easily as great as the 16-bit files taken from the camera. For this, I had to compress the files. If you are going to output the RAW files with compression, take into account what it is doing to the tonal range. If you really need sharp, clean images, don’t bother compressing the RAWs. If you have the time and patience, going without compression is the only way to get truly optimal files.

To apply the feature, you choose any picture that has a [Print] button, hold down the File menu, and click on the Settings option. Adobe s Photoshop Elements has always been a terrific way to quickly edit your photos when needed. But with the release of Elements 8, the program has an advanced twin brother in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, a multifunctional (and free) photo-editing and organizing app. Photos have never looked or felt so crisp. Highlights include the new Merge File tool, which is much faster than the previously used Copy File tool, and the new “Merge” panel, which allows you to quickly select a batch of photos and edit them in one go. Likewise, the new Organizer window can also be organized into separate panels, making it much easier to see and work with a number of files at once.

What is the deal with the separate Adobe Stock app? It’s not that I don’t like Adobe Stock; it’s that my workflow deals with non-stock images. Plus, I have more than 350 keywords in my Adobe Stock library, and they are always in sync. If you haven’t integrated them into the Photoshop database, they won’t be available when you open any file.

Adobe Illustrator CC is a great vector graphics program that always cuts to the heart of what you want to do. Performing kerning and tracking changes, then dragging and dropping is fundamental, and a simple example of what power Illustrator is capable of. The user interface is clean and designed efficiently, and is very intuitive.

I find in many ways, Photoshop Elements 2019’s positive ratings pan out. As before, Photoshop Elements has no schema, and its screen is more intuitive to use and understand. The Small Things feature is great for quickly altering edits. The powerful brushes are still available (when used within the program) and the file saving system is still very easy to use. You can add and manage new brushes, save them to your existing library, or create them directly in the program.

The Camera Raw Bridge and Photoshop Lightroom have made a seamless transition to the new Photo app. I absolutely love Lightroom for low-light shots (see below for HDR and 2020 ’s update), and Photoshop’s Camera Raw and Lens Profile Corrections is the best for this as well. There is a definite learning curve with this program, though, and it’s possible to pickup a lot through YouTube videos. But the program has integrations with other apps, phone screens, and macOS native, and it works with many different file formats.

Essentially, anyone can use Photoshop now. Sure, there are plenty of efforts to make the application even more accessible.
