Try both the “Impossible” and “Easy” modes (instead of only using the “Quick” mode).
Between the stages there are beautifully rendered levels that you can complete to earn an extra life or coins.
For an extra life, you can also complete a level in “Ippy”—a mode where you must collect balloons instead of peanuts.
A great feature is the ability to make the “paratroopers,” or squirrels, fly. It works for both single stage as well as between the stages.
Remixes:There are a lot of remixes for every stage, both between levels and between whole stages (so it is easy to find multiple stages that are similar to another).
Music Break:If you want a break from the game, you can just listen to the songs you have unlocked.
Most Frequent Stages:Most stages unlock for the first time when you complete the first ever stage (for example, you need to complete the first 4 stages in order to unlock the stage with the famous theme of Chibi Maruko-chan).
Most Hard Stages:Final boss stages are always very hard, especially because each stage has a few very difficult enemies.
Best Stages to Practice:Both the earlier and later stages in Easy mode are ideal for a few practice sessions.
Best Stages to Complete:All the Stages are rather difficult, but the 10th stage is so difficult that it is nearly impossible to complete.
Tips & Strategies:
If you are stuck in any stage, there is a very good chance that you can easily jump to a different stage. For example, if the stage is Easy, try the Normal mode, if Normal, try the “Paratroopers” mode, if that is a bust, try “Impossible,” if that is still a bust, try “Normal” again, and so on…

What is Pyromancer Smiles?
Pyromancer Smiles is a rather useful mod which is often overlooked.
It gives players an alternative window to the Commander Bonus Screen,
without the Commander Bonus Window being injected in the Main Menu.
You must install Pyromancer Smiles on the Pyro Launcher before the game,
and not on the Smokescreen itself.

1.5. Cut Instructions for Mac Users

Step 1: Run the mod installer. Ensure that you are running the
Smokescreen mod, and not the Pyro Launcher.
Note: If you are running the installdrivers for both, you will get a
version conflict on loading the mod.
Step 2: Once the installer has loaded, choose the Pyromancer Smiles installer,
and follow the instructions on screen.
Step 3: Once the mod has been installed, the Settingscreen screen will load. The
simply click on the options button.
Note: If you used an old version of the Pyromancer Smiles installer, the old settings
will remain stored in the database. You need to delete the old data manually,
if you want to remove those.
Step 4: Once the settings have been made, close the settings screen.
Step 5: Open the Smokescreen. You should see a fully functioning Smokescreen now.
Step 6: Double click on the Smokescreen and enjoy.
Notes:
– Make sure to delete the `pyromac_settings’ and `settings_old’ folders first if you
have installed previous versions of Pyromancer Smiles.
– If you wish, you may delete the `core’ folder before installing this mod. This folder
contains the settings of the Pyro Launcher.
