The name “AutoCAD” was inspired by the Autocadura, a teleautocad system developed in Italy by IIT, an engineering research center of the Italian Minister of Education and the first computer-aided drafting (CAD) system to use a mouse as input. The mouse was not yet a practical method of input in the early 1980s, but with the success of the Autocadura, Autodesk developed the first auto-skimming mouse in 1986, enabling CAD operators to rapidly select an object by simply “dragging” the cursor across it. Autocadura was later renamed to AutoCAD in 1989.
The first AutoCAD release was 2.0, which added such features as dimensioning, text objects, command history, simulation tools, a revision history, and detailed documentation. AutoCAD 2.0 was originally launched on October 20, 1987, and ran on Windows 3.11 and 286/386 computers. AutoCAD 1.0 was released on April 19, 1987, and runs on the same systems.

A new application interface
AutoCAD R2000 and later (as well as AutoCAD LT ) contains the same interface and functionality as AutoCAD 2007. However, the three most popular families of hardware platforms (Windows, Mac, and Linux) have slightly different features and capabilities.

The Community edition is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, while the Professional edition uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS.
There are also Linux versions of other AutoCAD applications, such as Architecture and Mechanical, and plug-ins for other applications.
AutoCAD can be installed on Windows, macOS, Linux, UNIX, and FreeBSD.
Language support
The supported programming languages include:

The code for most of these languages is written in C and/or C++, with some of them using native C++ templates (in some cases with extended templates to support advanced features, such as STL). For a few languages, parts of the code are written in other languages. For instance, AutoLISP and Visual LISP are written in PL/1 (now discontinued), and C# and C++/CLI are written in Microsoft’s.NET framework.
Autocad LT is written in ObjectARX. It is not compatible with Visual Studio, and therefore cannot be compiled with Visual Studio.

The new census is here, and it is time to talk about the census again. For as long as anyone can remember, this is the time when Census officials have worked to make sure the numbers are right.
This time around, however, the method for determining what sort of numbers should go into the census report has been altered.
A century of doing the census, albeit with change, has resulted in a more complicated questionaire.
In my twenties, I was questioned about ethnicity, religious affiliation and marital status. It took a long time to answer.
I was a welfare state baby, so my mum could tell from the names of my high school that I wasn’t going to have any trouble in the area of language.
Those issues I can only guess about today. But the next generation are being asked about topics that are both more personal, and more complicated.
While the researchers who made these changes did everything they could to ensure there wasn’t a public perception of bias, the census, or a number of reports that are produced from it, are going to be seen to have a different political and social relevance than in the past.
Those changes have happened around the world. The most recent example is the Pew Research Centre’s US survey, which showed that the rapid growth of non-white Americans is causing a “sharp” drop in the number of white Americans.
When you look at the lists of where the fastest growing communities are, you can see the impact of the process.
When all our data is collected and analysed, there is going to be a marked difference between the numbers that come from the census, and the numbers that come from ABS survey data.
