What you have described is the default behavior of the Walkman. There is no way to delete songs from a Walkman that are already on the device. The Walkman stores songs on a MediaCard (little removable card inside the unit). These songs stay on the unit until the MediaCard is removed.
There are two ways to remove songs from the Walkman.
1) You can use the PC Suite software that comes with the Walkman. This software creates a file list of the songs on the MediaCard. The file list can be transferred to the PC. The PC suite can then be used to remove the songs from the list. This is the easiest way to delete songs.
2) If you are having problems transferring songs to a different storage medium (PC, FlashDrive, SD Card, etc.), it may be the case that there is an issue with the MediaCard. It is recommended that you replace the MediaCard.
