Is there a word for “to be out-of-place in a type of place”?
I am working on an app that allows you to search for hotels by their location, which is specified by a city name or the country name of the hotel. Currently I have a screen that has the city name at the top and the map at the bottom. When I do a search, it only shows results in the city I entered. I would like to have the map show results for other cities too.
Is there a technical word for “to be out-of-place in a type of place”? I’ve been thinking of “being out of place” and “being misplaced”, but those don’t sound like technical terms. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

One of the main tenets of good UX is consistency. The goal of the application is to not be inconsistent and to not have you have to think about what the application is or is not doing.
