Cannot serve static content with MVC4 on development and IIS7 on deployment

I am developing an asp.net MVC4 web application. I have tested locally using IIS 7.5 and hosting the site in local IIS 7.5, it all works fine.
Then I deployed my site to a new server using IIS 7.5. When I go to the page the default index.html page from the root of the web site is served. I

Usage

Download the latest version of the MDX Toolbox from the Microsoft Developer Network.

Run the installer. It will install the MDX Toolbox in the following directory:

%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft\MSX\MTB\v5\MDXTools\

If the MDX Toolbox has not already been installed, the installer will install it for you. If you are installing this for the first time, it will also install the MDX.RTM.4 redistributable package and the EMS.RTM.4 redistributable package, required for the MDX Toolbox to work.

Run the executable MDXToolbox.exe. It will run in the default browser.
