The present study was undertaken to assess the applicability of the Internet in recruiting population-based samples in this country. This study investigated self-reported Internet use among the population of Denmark, as well as attitudes and experiences of Internet use, including Internet self-efficacy (ISE), demographic characteristics, and well-being. Internet use has become extremely common. Many consider it a basic need. For example, they claim that they often use the Internet to check out other people. All these people claim to find the Internet a valuable source of information, resources, and entertainment. But this report suggests that the Internet has not yet been incorporated into the mainstream of modern people’s lives. According to the results of this study, the percentage of Internet use was the highest in age groups 23 to 45, and the lowest in those aged 0 to 23. Compared with men, women had higher levels of Internet use. One’s marital status, occupation, and educational attainment also have a significant influence on Internet use. As for employment status, one’s working status is the most important variable influencing Internet use. As Internet use increases, so does ISE, and ISE is the strongest predictor of Internet use in our regression analysis. Findings from the regression analysis indicate that the way in which one uses the Internet is very important, with the Internet being regarded as a useful resource, but not as a vital resource. Moreover, Internet users are more knowledgeable than non-users regarding use and availability of applications. This indicates that the Internet has become a more important commodity for most people.
