How does the caller know that s.malloced_func(x) is equal to s.malloced_func(x)?
Consider the following snippet:

The s.malloced_func = malloced_func is obviously evil, but as we can see, this is the only way I could implement the function.
Now this in turn leads to my question: how does the caller know that s.malloced_func(2) is the same as malloced_func(2) – even though you don’t have to “see inside”?
In other words, how does the caller of malloced_func know that s.malloced_func(2) will be the same as malloced_func(2)?
(Maybe this was already answered, but I can’t find a post which describes it)

You seem to misunderstand the mechanism of function pointers.
When a struct is pointed at by a pointer, or contains a pointer to a function, the compiler does not know what will be the value of the function pointer.
This is the reason why you can not use a pointer to a function to point at a function.
To see an example, consider the following two structs:

A little greener: My inspiration to switch to sustainable mode
This month, we’re not going to be quite as green as we have been. Instead, I’m launching our first segment on sustainability. Here’s a sneak preview of what’s to come.
Olympic National Park is best known for its 12,000 acres of recreational resources, like Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and hundreds of campgrounds. Some of its roots are in conservation; in the early 1900s, the park was a national forest.
In the early 1900s, it was a national park, with a hunting and fishing program. But it’s more than just a way to blow off steam on the weekends or celebrate a bicentennial: it’s a living document of American history.
Did you know that the park’s first main interpretive trail, the Gardner Falls Interpretive Trail, was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a federal program that gave some young men a chance to spend their time off working in the national parks. More than 50,000 men signed up for the CCC, and the park’s visitor facilities were the beneficiary of their labors.
As you may have guessed, I’m no stranger to the park and its resources. For over a decade, I’ve lived at Grizzly Bay Campground.
At the same time I’ve been familiar with the many outdoor programs, cultural events and recreational opportunities in and around the park.
As a naturalist, I’ve heard and read the many scientific and environmental news, received warnings from park officials and made personal efforts to be less resource-intense.
Not only am I a regular reader of the Information Desk, I’ve visited the Green Oasis, the Learning Center, and a number of other national park centers. My friends and I have also participated in the Leave No Trace philosophy in order to take care of our parks.
I wanted to do more, but with four children of my own, I didn’t have the time. Instead of something that required an excess of effort, I decided to give up two old items and invest in a new one.
Even with a newborn, it takes time to plan out the process of educating my kids about the environment. I wanted to give them the opportunity to learn about conservation before they experienced life beyond the boundaries of their

Welcome back to Arena Mode! Two seasons have now come and gone and the robot overlords have finally figured out a way to defend themselves. However, if any of us can figure out their tactics, we’ll have the upper hand, and six seasons may yet to come.
Before we step into the fray though, I want to talk about a tech update and a patch. As this is our last season before MMO status, a partial update is being implemented into the desktop client. Thanks to the efforts of @ryji, our community is now able to view their card in Arena, and also our Scout rank.
This also bumps to a more professional look, with new icons for the eternal viewers. With this patch, we’ve also revamped the settings menu. To be honest, I simply didn’t like how cluttered it was; I actually suspected there’d be a mouse-tracking bug there, but I was off-base.
Onto the animals! I hold a degree in Zoology, but today it is someone else who shall be celebrated, for the development team has edited us a lot of animals. Perhaps thanks to the release of “Ascension 1.7” (Wakka Wakka Drink coffee), the duo have only just added in the remaining in-game animals.
Volibear
The excessively large elephant has officially been added, and has an Auto-Attacking Module which permits it to kill other minifigures in one hit. It also makes lightning deals, since it can leap over buildings (perhaps it thinks those are trees?). Just try not to kill yourself with it’s shooting lasers out of it’s trunk.
Miss Bunny
Added as a Village – Comparison. This minifigures’ level should be self-explanatory, similar to how Tankers compare their source of income to their “company” level.
Wakka Wakka
Added as a Crypt and a Village – Comparison, both are included at this stage. This seems a little bizarre, but it’s the way Minecraft likes it’s spashers.
