first, i’ll explain the camera modification. if you have ever played with third-person camera controls in any rpg or fighting game, you’ll be able to understand this method pretty easily. i wanted to give a specific example as i think it’s best for beginners, so, we’ll start with a fighter’s perspective. in general, the camera has a basic default of looking straight down. to move the camera up or down, tilt it up or down, and to look to the left or right, tilt the camera left or right. to zoom in or out, click on the zoom button. now, let’s take a look at how this works:
the camera is off to the left of the center of the scene. tilt the camera right to look to the right. now, click on the zoom button, and you can see that it will zoom in on the scene. now, click to zoom out.
this is a great way to create panoramic views of your surroundings, but it can also be used for interesting situations. let’s say you want to zoom in and capture an extreme closeup of your target. all you need to do is zoom in, and you can see that you can start to see your target more clearly. you can also zoom out and get a wider view, but you cant really do both at the same time. now, this is a great example of why third-person cameras are so useful. now, to my next point:
first, as mentioned earlier, the default camera is perfectly fine, as it is as you are used to in third-person games. this means that, unless you have played with a camera in an rpg or fighting game before, you will have a steep learning curve to overcome. now, this method is the easiest way to get acquainted with how third-person camera controls work, but it is definitely not the most convenient method. this is because, by default, you can only look in one direction at a time. now, this can be inconvenient when you have a scene that requires more than one perspective. let’s take a look at how to fix this:
