so if i only stick to one of the Hinge Double Ds the choice seems to be on the angular Hinge since it not only lifts and lowers better than the Smooth action but it also feels more solid (as in it feels like a real hinge) vs the Smooth Hinge that feels like it’s acting like an airbag and feeling a little mushy/spongy. ive seen a comment somewhere from someone that they dont use it in favor of the smooth even though its not better on many levels.

it would seem the angular is harder and has better texture but does it feel better?
I hear that the angular action is also better in that it has a very low stiction between full open and full closed. But I also hear that the angular action uses a lot more plastic in the hinge. Which is the main point of interest to many people.

I’ve been researching hinges and hinges are great at stuff, not so great at others.
I’ve been using a double hinged hinge for awhile now, the level hinge, it doesn’t have a knob on the side but it has a ball and a ferrule which makes it super easy to install.
The only cons I can see, and this is a rare con, is that the ferrule on the ball is sharp. If you mess with the wheel it can make the ferrule snag or even the ball. It can damage the crease in the saddle if you mess with the tire. I’d be careful with this. It doesn’t happen often though. It could be worse.
I’ve also heard of guys who have used the titanium hinges and say they have a much better quality feel to their saddle than the normal hinges. I don’t use them because I’m scared to mess with them, I’m not sure I want any more modifications.
I just got my Hinge Single D recently, I didn’t like how it came with the two holes for the plastic pin but is better than spending an extra $65 for the single hole. I don’t know if there is a difference between the single and double.
