Different software programs have their own way of organizing menus. Even though Photoshop and Illustrator use very similar menus, the tabs can be organized in a way that’s slightly different. Here are the tools you need to know about to quickly access the features you need.
Putting Photoshop menus to work
When you start up Photoshop, the Welcome page (as shown on the left side in Figure 6-2) appears, letting you know what the most common tools and functions are.
Here are some points to keep in mind as you work with Photoshop:
The Photoshop Essentials toolbox (on the left side in Figure 6-2) contains most of the functionality available in the program, including layers, blend modes, the screen-darkening adjuster, the Screen adjustment layer, the Levels adjustment layer, and many more.
The Common toolset (on the right side in Figure 6-2) is where you find all the basic tools. These are available on the Control bar (as explained on the right side in Figure 6-2), but for some reason, there is not an equivalent for Image Size. You can access the Image Size tool from the Effect pull-down menu.
Although Photoshop Elements is a great tool for editing small images, the full Photoshop toolset can enable you to work with very large images.

Here are a few tools that are not part of the Essentials or Common toolset:

Create a functional interface with EclipseLink JPA
I would like to ask if it’s possible to create a Java 8 functional interface with EclipseLink JPA?
I have searched on the web and could find only one solution. However, I could not find a way to implement this solution.
So, if I have a function:

I want to get the time when the gradle build finished, and then use it to record, say for an offline installer, the build date in the next build.
I looked at the gradle Build Time, and it doesn’t seem to be what I want.

There are several options for you
Stop (and restart) the build
You can wrap all your build in a
task {
stop’signal’
doLast {
println buildTime
}
}
This obviously should be done only if you are sure that it is a clean build (i.e. no old artifacts left)
Inject a dependency into your build
You could consider to inject a build time dependency into your build for example with
Approach one (I personally prefer this one)
You can add an arbitrary property to your build definition (i.e. gradle-local.properties file under your user home) and use this for you needs
For example:
first.property=bar
second.property=baz
This would be read by your build after the build was created (once again, only if the build is a clean build)
Note that the user profile is not a valid location for gradle but if it is not very critical you can try it

This is a viable solution, but I think, take it with a grain of salt – (as I’ve found it doesn’t always reflect the best time, e.g. I have a build running all night, so the time is really 10+ minutes later than when stop was called).
