How is the Overgrowth Multiplayer coming? Well, it’s a little behind schedule. And things will probably take a little bit longer than we anticipated. The MP team is working hard and we’re playing some of the latest builds with the latest tech to help us figure things out, but we’re still not confident enough in our tech to have a playable MP build ready, at least for the game’s release.

But here are some of the most important features and upcoming updates related to that:

• We’re moving to dedicated servers instead of Steam’s matchmaking. Dedicated servers can’t be replicated, so they’re better for multiplayer.
• We’ve created a proper UI for joining servers. (See screenshot below.)
• We’re splitting the current separate console clients into two separate clients, and giving each one its own UI, so you can switch between them.
• The default client (for local multiplayer) is coming in a future update.

Right now, we’re having some trouble getting these servers up and running, but once we get that sorted out, we’ll start letting you try them out. It’s a big step on our road map, but we think it’s a good step.

We’re really happy with our progress so far. Our 0.1 release in January left a lot to be desired, mostly because of the servers. Hopefully, our server progress will be much smoother this time around.

So yeah, I decided on quite late night to add some Warcraft gold to my horde roster, and ended up adding a backstory for a voodoo shaman I’ve wanted since forever. I also figured a fan of world-deny was worthy of some cosmetics.
