If prisons don’t reform themselves, and their staff, and the large-scale reforms already in place that involve prisoner release, community release, and reintegration, “what will happen?” There is a clear agenda here: to stop women’s incarceration.
The WRRA has been working with Indigenous women in Canada for over 40 years and, in 2009, was the first national organization to endorse the demands of the call to action by Indigenous Women of Canada. The WRRA is a national non-profit organization and each individual chapter is autonomous. There are currently 17 chapters operating throughout Canada. The WRRA has programs and operations in Canadian and Indigenous communities and offices in Toronto and Montreal.
