Escape from Strawberries (1986) is a point-and-click adventure game created by Uwe Rosenberg and Uwe Rosenberg and originally released for the Amiga and Atari ST. The plot line tells the story of a prisoner who escapes from a prison from where they put oranges in his head for reading books. This allows him to read the books and discover the truth about Earth. The player plays as the warden and has to find the way to stop the convict in his attempt to kill the president of the world and establish a dictatorship in North America.
The game received much critical acclaim. In a poll by 3AM Magazine at ECTS 86, the game was voted #22 in the All-time Top 100 Computer Games list.
The game is set in a dystopian future. The world as we know it is destroyed and the survivors struggle to save themselves from more catastrophes. World is flat and some parts of the planet are even more valuable than the others.
You live in North America. A catastrophe strikes your town and you flee to a nearby city. After arriving in this new city, you find yourself the next day in a man-made shelter, where you are greeted by a group of survivors. Your shelter however, is a kind of prison – the place where they imprison people who have not obeyed their orders, disobeyed rules, or tried to get out of the destroyed city…
