3. CDialog
The CDialog is a simple dialog widget. The user can open it, close it, and it will not automatically close until the user explicitly closes it. You can pass messages to it, to tell it to close. If you pass the IDOK and IDCANCEL constants to your dialog, they will be passed to the window procedure. These constants identify the OK and CANCEL responses from the user. These constants should be passed to the IDOK, IDCANCEL methods in the OnOK() and OnCancel() procedures. If you specify a fieldName as a parameter to the constructor, the fieldName will be used to reference the name of the table in the database.

The problem
When you are creating a program which has to use a database you have to create a form (or frame) on which you have to put the controls which should handle the database data. Those controls usually have some images on them to explain to the user what to do. Such a form (or frame) usually has some buttons that will allow the user to get the data from/into database.
While developing this kind of program you will realize that you may need many different controls to build the frame. For example, you will have a CRadioButton (or CButton) to select the table, a CRadioButton to select a specific row of the table, another CRadioButton to select one of the columns and so on.
After finishing the design of this form you will realize that creating all these different controls (radiobuttons, listview etc.) is laborious and time consuming. Therefore, it is very common to use a radio button, listview or button for each control which is needed. Unfortunately, while working with SQL server these controls are “generic” and they do not know to which table they belong to, so you have to create all the controls manually.
If you would like to use a dialog form for your program you may not like it because dialogs are simple forms which do not have a rich feature set and it is not easy to add images to them.
The solution
SPTK is a library for building database-bound controls to fill a frame/dialog, so you don’t have to create those controls manually. It consists of the following classes:

Using these classes you can easily create a frame with the data you need, without creating any control by yourself.

There is no ready-to-use control which can add items to the list. For this reason you have to build a control by yourself.
