Biomaterials: The Intersection Of Biology And Materials Science

How To Choose the Right Material for a Biomaterial
The gap between the goal of the biomaterial and the material chosen to meet the requirements of the biomaterial is the key to an unsucessful outcome. .

from time to time we have a chance to lose all respect as stated in the book by r.e. guinan elvis was very respect minded and when he started to lose it so did people about him i thought i would tell you this story of elvis to help you stay humble and respect your elders. It will help you control.

The purpose of this study was to develop a novel method to quantify movement and deformation of the mandibular condyle without fixation in the mandibular fossa. The method is based on the principle that the mandibular fossa is an intrinsic part of the condyle and that it does not move or deform during mandibular function. Axial CT images were taken for a volunteer during opening and closing movements to perform the method. The movement and deformation of the mandibular fossa and condyle during jaw opening and closing were visualized in three-dimensional (3-D) reconstruction images and quantified using the new method. When the mouth was opened, the maximum distance between the distal surface of the condyle and the mandibular fossa was 1.8 mm, and the distance between the bottom of the fossa and the mandibular base was 2.8 mm. The maximal displacement of the fossa was 0.3 mm and that of the condyle was 0.1 mm. The maximal deformation of the mandibular fossa was 2.2 mm, and that of the condyle was 3.0 mm. The proposed method can be used to determine the maximal movement and deformation of the mandibular condyle without fixation.Q:
