We’ve got to hand it to the developers for bringing out this tool and offering it for free in an effort to protect online text strings from being read. They, however, could have done better in choosing a more honest approach in case of security. At this point, we think this encryption is only meant for.doc and.rtf files, while other editors should check out PĀḢSĀ :Password Keeper.
PĀḢSĀ :Password Keeper is a free text encryption application which offers you the chance to encrypt text strings, before they’re sent to other places. It doesn’t keep them safe, but at least they’re unreadable, or at least only visible to people who have the right password.
Stories abound about people sending out revealing text strings, which they later regret sending out, for various reasons. This scenario became a reality for me when I was in the middle of some legal affairs. Several text messages were exchanged between my attorney and one of the defendants, which were all readable by anybody.
Source text is encrypted in plain view
Even if the original text gets lost, or the recipient doesn’t believe it, he’s still able to read it. So, it’s quite hard to convince someone not to check out the text string.

On the bright side of things, the application doesn’t really need a setup process to begin functioning, which allows you to use it directly on the computer you need to.

Encryption based on a custom password
Launching the application for the first time brings up a prompt, asking you to provide a password, which is best to remember, because it’s the only way to be able to decrypt text later on.
