In any case you should have a soundcard and a videocard that can play sound and display the video, it’s not a good idea to use anything else.

I’m having the same issue. I’ve installed both Windows ME and XP on it (dual-boot). I have also installed 64-bit Firefox and it’s making this really annoying noise in my baby’s cooing. I have tried uninstalling all other programs from the computer and doing an “upgrade” but it’s not working.
I tried purging Firefox and reinstalling it (without the add-on, etc) but it still does this. The problem is I really like the add-on. The cause of the problem is what you say in your review: the man. I’m actually trying to get my boyfriend to stop using and using my computer so that he won’t have the ability to use any add-ons like the man.
Personally, I think you should remove the program. It would probably help your boyfriend not to have the ability to use it, as well.

I’m having the same issue with the XP 64-bit version of Firefox. I’ve had this problem with Firefox 3 beta 4 but after the official release, it’s gone. I’m using XP with Windows 7 as my main OS, and it seems to work fine on it.

I am using XP 64-bit and I too have had this same problem with FF 3.0.14. I think this has to do with the new update and with XP 64-bit. I had the problem as well when I used XP 32-bit but I don’t use that anymore. I have the problem with the majority of the add-ons I use. I have tried deleting them and then installing them again but it still happens. It’s just frustrating.
I am using XP 64-bit and I too have had this same problem with FF 3
