Emm El Emm, known professionally as Emm or just Em, grew up in Cheltenham, England, and has been making music since the age of 12 with the band Ganga. In 2007, after coming to the United States, Em began her own project, Spades, releasing the EP Spades (Blue Friday Productions, 2007). When Blue Friday Productions ceased operations, Emm founded the label Twisted Records with Ryan Heffington and a joint venture with Live Nation, and in January 2010, Emm signed a worldwide publishing and recording deal with independent label Capitol Records.
After producing “Thoughts” for Devlin, Labrinth told BBC News Online in 2001: “I’m always game for meeting artists and getting their input. It shows your interest in the artist’s music, even though you have no production or writing credit. Like anything else, you have to build a relationship over time. It’s not a “fast-food” kind of thing. It has to build over time with alot of trust and honesty.”
Labrinth has collaborated with many artists since, including Sugababes, Rihanna, Lily Allen, Will.i.am and Apple Corporation designs. In 2008 he released his debut album “Labrinth” (released through Live Nation) and a single titled “I Kissed A Girl” featuring Devlin. His new single “Trouble” becomes available to download today and will be available for fans to purchase at iTunes from Friday 12 December.
