Encrypted Torrent Download is a free password-protection utility that uses the PC’s built-in ZIP and TAR compression algorithms to securely move, compress, and encrypt files. Encrypted was written in Visual Basic.NET as a part of the security and anti-spam project EcoGear (www.ecogear.com). It uses a proprietary encryption algorithm for moving and compress files and a standard LZH compression algorithm for encrypting and decrypting files.
When importing a file, it automatically sets the encryption strength to maximum (AES256 for the ZIP encryption and LZH1 for the LZH compression.) By default, the zipfiles created by Encrypted are password protected. Encrypted can create both encrypted and unencrypted zipfiles.
