* Click the Image menu and select Adjustments, then click Levels to open the Levels dialog box. In the Levels dialog box, click the Auto button ( ) to have Photoshop automatically create a histogram (covered later in this chapter).
* Use Photoshop’s other tools to change the Levels or Color Settings, as needed.
* Click the Close button ( ) in the Levels dialog box and Photoshop opens the Levels dialog box again.
* Click the Auto button ( ) again to return to Automatically.

# BUSY WITH VISUALIZE
If you find that you are busy with other tasks, you might opt to use Photoshop’s visualizing tools to visually edit images. You can do this in the following steps:
1. **Open an image in Photoshop.**
2. **Click the visualizing tool that most closely matches what you want to visualize.**
For example, you might click the Spot Healing Brush tool to visualize, or to fix, an image. (See Chapter 6 for more on using the Spot Healing Brush and other visualizing tools.)
You can also use the Eraser, Healing Brush, and Magic Wand tools to heal images, as we show in Chapter 6.
Chapter 4 explains how to find specific tools on the menu.
3. **Click the visualizing tool on the menu.**
If you use only the Spot Healing Brush tool, you see a small rectangle when you click it.
When you click to select a different tool, the menu changes to your tool choices.
4. **Adjust or paint the object in the image.**
For example, if you click the tool, you see the options that appear when you click the tool. See Chapter 6 for more about adjusting images.
Click the Backspace or Delete keys to paint areas of the picture. Because the tools can interact with one another, you may have to switch tools. For example, if you use the Brush tool and the Healing Brush tool, your Healing Brush is disabled.
5. **When you like what you see, press the Enter key on your keyboard or click the dotted button ( ).
