I’m working on a timer game where the computer tries to guess if I have won or lost. When a game is finished, the user will get a score based on the amount of time it took to finish the game.
I’m using a timer to determine when a game is finished, and have multiple classes. I want to be able to calculate how long it took to finish the game for each user, so I can average it out and give a score.
My game is a RTS with timers for projectiles, force field, movement, and shooting. Since each of these is a separate timer, I can’t just add up the timer counts for all of them and divide it by the total amount of seconds in the game.
I’m pretty sure there has to be a way to do this in C#. I thought about using a double but it’s not really working. I don’t know the length of the time and don’t want to hard code it.
Is there a way I can get the amount of time in seconds spent playing this game, from the timer and the class?

Simple solution:
Calculate time as milliseconds, and multiply by 1000 to get seconds
var totalTimeInMilliseconds =…;
var totalSeconds = totalTimeInMilliseconds / 1000;

This will give you the amount of time in seconds since the game started.
Now multiply the time of the game by 1000 (or whatever factor you want). This will give you the amount of time played in seconds.
totalSeconds * gameTimeInSeconds;

That will give you the amount of time played. From here you can calculate the score.

There are other ways to accomplish this. For instance, you could keep track of how long you have been playing and calculate that yourself.
