“Saint/Saint” is a Christmas tale written by American author Hans Fallada, first published in book form on May 16, 1947. It was later adapted as a film of the same name starring Dirk Bogarde and Nicoletta Machiavelli, and released in 1966. This was the second German “Saint”/”Saint” film, the first being an earlier Fallada story, “Little Treasure” (1944).
The play upon which the film version is based is called “Children of the Queen of Sheba,” and was written by author and playwright Terence Rattigan in the mid-1940s and first published in 1945.
