The Simple CD Menu will allow the user to create a simple and professional looking autorun install menu for your distributed application or data CDs.
In order to use the Simple CD Menu, you will first need to configure two files with your customized options:
autorun.inf
scdmconfig.ini
In the autorun.inf file you only need to change three items or less. First, the “icon=” can be changed to point to your own application or CD icon. Second, the “action=” can be set to any text title you want displayed when the autorun.inf file is started upon CD insertion. Finally, the “label=” should be set to your CD’s name label (i.e. the name of your application.)
In the scdconfig.ini file you need to change all the options to customize the menu title, text, button text, and the paths to the files that will be run upon button activation. The paths to the files do not need a drive letter.

This CD will include a small and simple menu that allows you to choose either to run your application, launch your program, or display your menu. The menu will be very basic; there are just three options for choosing your desired action, and the user is not prompted for any data. The Simple CD Menu does not support functionality such as buttons, radio buttons, or checkboxes because they would just duplicate existing actions and cause confusion for the user.
The Simple CD Menu can also be used to create a bootable USB drive that has your own data programs or applications along with the application that you chose to install when you create the CD. This will allow users that do not have a CD player to boot the USB, but still choose the program/application they want to run. (The CD MUST be set to boot on CD-R or CD-RW.)
To use the Simple CD Menu, you will need a blank CD (not DVD, DVD-ROM, or the like) and the Simple CD Menu.

1. Boot your computer from the Windows 9x or Windows 2000 DVD.
2. Insert the Simple CD Menu test CD in the CD-ROM drive.
3. The program will automatically start on installation.
4. When installed, you may test the program by loading the CD or using another program that can read the CD.
5. A menu will be displayed.
6. Select the desired action and press the designated button.
7. Select ok to continue with the installed program or select cancel to cancel installation.
Text mode installation instructions:
1. Boot your computer from the Windows 9x or Windows 2000 DVD.
2. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive and press enter.
3. You should be presented with a menu.
4. Select one of the three options.
5. You can select ok, cancel or other.
6. You will be prompted to select the default action for each installed application.
7. You can change your options for how to handle files, etc.
