Subsync Subtitles Synchronizer is a useful application designed to assist you in synchronizing subtitle files with the corresponding video, in order to eliminate delays. Providing support for the two most popular subtitle formats, namely SUB and SRT, it enables you to perform the synchronization process manually, without having a preview function for playing the video.
In order to use it, you must open the subtitle file you want to process. The text is previewed within the main window, along with the corresponding video times for each text line. The’search’ function enables you to find a text line within a large subtitle file.
The’starting subtitle’ is a line that can be easily identified during video playback. You can set it using the right-click menu and assign it the real corresponding timestamp, which can be observed by playing the video file using a third-party dedicated application. The same procedure must be repeated with the ‘ending subtitle’.
Once you do so, the application proceeds to automatically synchronize the subtitle with the target video playback, allowing you to export the output to your local computer.
In case you decide to save the generated file in SUB format, the movie framerate must be taken into consideration. You can configure the SRT starting index, as well as the FPS rate using the ‘Settings’ section of the application. Alternatively, the synchronized subtitle can be exported SRT format, which is compatible with most video players.

This program is designed especially to synchronize subtitles and audio in my Final Cut Pro Movie for Spanish version. My problem was that subtitles were delayed by some minutes after I cut and encode the movie.

It’s quite a useful program! I found out that the subtitles were shifted in the video by a minute or two, which caused a lot of trouble for me when I was applying a mute filter to the video. I went through several hours of work cleaning the video file, and I was able to fix it only when I changed the subtitle timings. It’s obvious that the program was not properly recognizing the subtitle changes because the program didn’t detect the automatically shifted subtitles!
I hope that in a future update the program will be able to apply the subtitles “automatically” after I edited the video file.

I have a problem with subtitles update. I do synchronization manually, but the subtitle timings are off. I use Atomos in the cinema and in some files it is off 5 seconds. I was able to find the problem: Atomos changes interval to 1 second, so the synchronization process with Subsync doesn’t work. In Atomos setting this problem is not possible (look in “Subtitles”, “Slowmo”, “Subtitles for video”, “Timing”). I hope you’ll fix this problem.
