How to use a ‘table’ declared like a column in the database?

My database consists of a table users. Each user has a unique id that I am going to use as reference for a pivot table. This is necessary because I need to be able to link the different users’ ids to different teams in a team_user table. However, the team_user table consists of 3 columns with is null until one of these columns receives a user.id from the users table.
So basically, I need a name to differentiate between the different users. This works fine, but, for organization’s purposes, I’d like the ids of the teams and/or names of the users to be ordered. So, for my purposes, a column (like the users.id, team_id and team_name) is declared like a table column. This is my first attempt at using SQL.
I’ve tried including my attempted code below and, while I have no problem accessing the column data, it only seems to be acting like a string and not an ordered column as I’d like.
