Plasma lipoproteins, non esterified fatty acids, insulin and glucose metabolism was measured on the first and the last day of each 2 weeks period. On the last day of each 2 weeks, the weight, the waist circumference and the body mass index were measured. During each 2 weeks period, the subjects recorded their dietary intake. Plasma lipoproteins were analysed. The results showed that for almost all the subjects, only the intake of red and light spirits was associated with an increased food intake during the corresponding 2 weeks period. The intake of white wine was associated with a decreased food intake during 2 weeks. During the 2 weeks intake period, plasma triglyceride concentration was lower on the subjects that consumed white wine. The results also showed that there were no significant differences between the experimental periods on the other parameters. The intake of wine is associated with a modified plasma lipid concentration. The increased food intake associated with red wine intake is in contrast with the results obtained in other studies.Q:
